**For residential additions or remodels, it may be required to model the entire building including the addition to comply the project. Please take this into account when indexing the price. The Title 24 report may require HERS existing conditions field inspections that are not a part of the above fee. Our HERS existing condition field inspection fee is $350 for projects located in Los Angeles county.

While we are not cheap you may save your client thousands of dollars per our detailed Title 24 options that we provide versus trying to save a few hundred dollars on a cheap fixed fee Title 24 from another. The Los Angeles Building Department is finally cracking down on the wild west LA rogue contractors who have chosen not to follow the energy code. We end up being the go-to consultant to dig many projects out of a hole. Our 30 years experience in the energy code and our in-field construction experience become very helpful in these situations and in general effectively saving your client lots of money, speeding up plan check submittals and implementing solutions when Title 24 features are not installed on the job site.
Duct Tests & HERS Rating
Please call for fees for the following HERS field inspections:
- quality insulation installation
- existing HERS field conditions site visit
- duct leakage testing
- blower door testing
- refrigerant charge testing
- air flow testing and fan watt draw
- solar PV
- IAQ indoor air ventilation
At the moment we are not doing any commercial duct leakage testing.
Policies
- Certification for “passing” houses is provided immediately upon verification of test results.
- All HERS inspections by Alternative Energy Systems are COD.
- Alternative Energy Systems makes every reasonable effort to work with the HVAC contractor to obtain passing results. However, re-testing, waiting time and time spent assisting the contractor to identify leak locations are subject to additional charges payable at the rate of $125.00 per hour.
