LEED

AES’s team of qualified and experienced sustainability and green building professionals can provide LEED Certification Consulting services to help navigate and understand the LEED Certification process.

LEED Certification ConsultingLEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a third-party building performance measurement system from the US Green Building Council that provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.

LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building, home or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. The LEED process involves quantifying all of the sustainable design attributes of a project, modeling the proposed energy and water consumption, and commissioning the buildings upon completion to verify delivery of a high-performance system for reduced environmental impacts.

GREENPOINT RATED CERTIFICATION

GreenPoint Rated is a program of <https://builditgreen.org/greenpoint-rated> Build It Green, a professional non-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote healthy, energy and resource efficient buildings in California. GreenPoint Rated´s recommended measures and performance benchmarks specifically address climate and market conditions in California. They are recognized by third party sources, including the California Air Resources Board, the California Energy Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments. Ratings are performed by certified GreenPoint Raters, independent professionals who are trained and certified by Build It Green. The rating process is a non-invasive physical examination of building systems, structures, materials and components to assess energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality, resource efficiency of materials and construction methods, and construction quality.

The rater will generally engage in at least four of the five following activities during the course of project design and construction: Plan Check, Rough Inspection, Final Inspection, Supporting Documentation Review, Performance Testing.

CTCAC – California Tax Credit Allocation Committee

AES provides TCAC Application services for both New Construction and Adaptive Resuse/Rehabilitation along with preparation of the Attachment 25 – Architect Sustainable Building Method Certification. For both the New Construction and Adaptive Resuse/Rehabilitation AES has the TCAC application experience, the required CEA(Certified Energy Analyst) along with the HERSII certification for all TCAC submittals. AES meets with your team early in the process to ascertain the projects goals, funding requirements and the Title 24 energy efficiency measures used to comply the project.

CUAC – California Utility Allowance Calculation

The California Utility Allowance Calculator (CUAC) is a tool designed to calculate project-specific utility allowances for low income housing projects. Some county funding protocols are now requiring a CUAC calculation in lieu of the PHA’s UA numbers. AES has extensive experience in doing CUAC analysis getting developers the best UA’s possible through team coordination, Title 24 know-how and high performance energy efficiency measures.
